About Vietnam Union
History and development
Background and education
Mr. Tran Minh was born into a Confucian family. On his father’s side he is a 16th-generation descendant of Giáp Hải, a Trạng Nguyên (top laureate of the imperial examinations), and on his mother’s side an 18th-generation descendant of Nguyễn Như Uyên, a Hoàng giáp (doctoral laureate). Both of his parents took part in the resistance war, and he went abroad to study in 1986. Driven by a passion for learning and research, he became a scholar in philosophy, history, theology, traditional martial arts and herbal medicine.
Work in the Czech Republic and cooperation ties
He served on the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Senate of the Czech Republic, then moved into in-depth technology research under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Miloslav Ransdorf, a leading professor in technology and energy security. In 2014, Mr. Tran Minh returned to Vietnam together with his mentor and friend, Prof. Ransdorf, to expand friendly cooperation and introduce advanced new technologies.
Research and company founding
Out of passion, Mr. Tran Minh spent eight years studying new technology models and their connection, application and transfer across many fields (for example: thermal engineering, chemicals, mineral technology, environmental treatment, water and waste treatment, coastal erosion protection, aviation and aerospace technology, and research on magnetic fields and unidentified flying objects). He founded two companies, Vietnam Union and Thanh Long Dong Phuong, aiming to transfer advanced, modern and efficient technology to Vietnamese enterprises, craft villages and farmers.
Today
Mr. Tran Minh is Chairman of Vietnam Union, co-owner of Enelek (the chairing company of the Czech mineral technology association) and a member of the CDT mineral group. He runs programs that connect partners, promote trade and transfer advanced Czech technologies to Vietnam, and has advised on investment and technology transfer for several industrial, agricultural, environmental and factory projects in Vietnamese localities.
Strategic direction
The company’s leadership has set its direction: using advanced Czech technology to develop successful, widely used, high-quality products at lower cost, suited to the Vietnamese market. Vietnam Union’s achievements over the years inspire its leaders and staff to go further, with the goal of becoming one of Vietnam’s leading high-tech companies, serving production in defence, aviation and aerospace, and cooperating with universities, academies of sciences, state science agencies and private organizations on programs and projects that benefit society, the community and the nation.
